Visit with Santa

Caden's first visit with Santa

Merry Christmas from Caden!!

Caden has visited with Santa twice now. He met him at our church's Pumpkin and Holly Fair the weekend before Thanksgiving. Then he met him again this past weekend at the Fire House Christmas Party where Santa arrived in a fire truck! Both times he met Santa, he was fine at first and then when Santa began to talk to him, he started to cry. Maybe we will have better luck next year.

Thanks to Grammy Pammy's friend, Jill, we have a great Christmas card photo this year. She took pictures of Caden over the Thanksgiving weekend. He was a good sport as you can see in the photo above. He even managed to pee on the lights and they went out!

Fun in December

Caden & Landon
Caden with Dimitri, Andrew and Stelio
I am a big boy holding my own bottle!!
Caden's favorite show is The Wiggles. Jason won't let him watch Barney, but I say The Wiggles aren't any better! You would get a laugh out of Jay now that he dances around and sings songs with The Wiggles. I have got to get a photo of that!
Caden enjoys taking a bath in the kitchen sink.

December has been a busy month already! Just thought I would share some pics of Caden with his friends. We went to visit my college friend, Jenn, and her kids in Massachusetts. Landon is about a month younger than Caden and Bella (not pictured here) is my Goddaughter. It was fun for Caden to be able to play with someone his age. We also had a playdate with the Mysirlidis family. Dimitri was born two days after Caden. He has two older brothers and Caden had fun playing with them, too!

I am big kid now! Caden is holding his own bottle - finally!

Happy Thanksgiving....a little late!

Yummy mashed potatoes!!
Our First Thanksgiving!
Caden enjoying his cousins, Zac & Alexa

Jason keeps teasing me for not keeping the blog updated....my answer is for him to do it since he seems to think that I have so much time on my hands! You've gotta love husbands!

Caden is almost 9 months old already. We celebrated Thanksgiving at Gerald and Michelle's house. Caden enjoyed some turkey, stuffing and mashed potatoes with us. He is enjoying eating our food which makes our lives a whole lot easier, too. Caden is rolling all over the place and likes to hold onto things and stand up...but still no crawling. He gets up on all fours like is about to, but then plops down on his belly and sometimes his face! It is only a matter of time before we will be chasing him everywhere! We are busy getting ready for our First Christmas with our little guy!

October News

Yabba Dabba Do!
Yummy, apples!
The pumpkins are cool, but I just want to eat the stem.

Future firefighter?

Caden had a busy October. We went apple picking at William Raveis's house with Grandpa Jeff in the beginning of the month. Caden seemed to enjoy eating the leaves more than the apples. The following weekend, we went pumpkin picking with Grammy Pammy, Grampy Mark, and Auntie Kara. We couldn't get Caden to smile much with the pumpkins, but he looked awfully cute in his pumpkin hat even without a smile. Caden celebrated his first Mitchell's Annual Halloween Party this past Friday. Check out how handsome he looks as Dino Flintstone.

Caden is rolling over like crazy, eating all kinds of foods, and can sit up by himself and play for quite a while. He has 6 teeth already! He is growing like crazy. He may only be 7 months old but he is already wearing 12 month clothing. Recently he has been yelling "dada" like crazy. Of course, he doesn't know that he is calling Jay, but Jay is enjoying all the attention he is getting from his son. We hope you had a happy October. We certainly did!!

6 Month Portraits

Can you tell whose kid he is or what?
Gotta have a naked shot...
"Mama, I have had enough! Good night!"
Not sure who is more photogenic here?
"Stop taking my pictures, now!!!"

On September 13th, Caden went to Christine's studio again to visit Grammy Pammy and get his 6 month photos taken. He smiles like crazy at home, but did not want to smile much for his photos. Needless to say, he is still cute even when he isn't smiling and has a ton of drool hanging out of his mouth! Here are just a few of our favorites. Enjoy!

September News

Happy Birthday, Grandma Nancy! Hope you enjoyed your breakfast. I loved the whipped cream from your waffle with strawberries! Thanks for sharing!
Happy Birthday, Auntie Kara! Wanna dance?
Happy Birthday, Alexa! I love you, but I can't look at the camera at the same time as you for some reason!

September is almost over! Fall is finally here. Caden is changing with the leaves, too. This month he has become cuter than ever. He is rolling over now so we have to watch every move he makes. He laughs a ton and continues to make us smile more and more each day.

Caden turned 6 months old last week. Time has flown by. This month we celebrated Grandma Nancy's birthday by taking her out for breakfast. Auntie Kara's birthday is tomorrow. Caden has spent a lot of time with her dancing (even though Papa wants him to play football someday, Auntie Kara is trying to get him to dance). When Caden rolls over onto his tummy, he likes to sway back and forth and it looks like he is dancing. So whatever Auntie Kara is doing might be working :-) Today we celebrated Cousin Alexa's birthday, too. She is 5 already and started kindergarten! She just loves her cousin Caden. And he loves her, too!

October is almost here. Be sure to check back for some Halloween photos...we still don't know what Caden is going to dress up as, so you will have to wait and see.

Curious Caden

We had to share these photos with you. Jason was holding Caden next to this rack in our kitchen and he just grabbed on and wouldn't let go. Looks like Caden will be quite the climber! Ironically we have been watching "Curious George" on TV lately, so he might just be learning something from him.
Caden's smile just melts our hearts. It is going to be very hard not to spoil the little slugger with eyes like that! We are sure he will win all the ladies' hearts when he gets older. Happy Labor Day Weekend!

Summer is almost over :-(

Caden and Giraffe - I wonder what they are talking about?
Caden with Grandpa Jeff - Anyone up for a staring contest?
I am a drooling machine!
Caden chatting about the Yankees with his new friend.
Caden with Mr. Fishie - his newest friend.

The time has almost come for Mama to go back to work. These past 5 months have gone by so fast! Caden has gone to his new daycare a few times this month. He seems to really like all the kids at Mrs. Suzie's house. He will start there full-time after Labor Day when Mama has to go back to work.

Caden's second tooth has come in. He has also started eating lots of veggies and fruits. He seems to like them all: apples, pears, peaches, bananas, peas, green beans, squash, and carrots are what he has tried so far. He is a great sleeper for us. He sleeps from about 8pm until almost 8am most nights! We are very lucky!

Caden is also very curious about the world around him. As you can see from the photos, he has made some new friends this month. His giraffe friend and the fishie he received from Grandma Nancy are only a few. Grandma Nancy also brought Caden a new friend who loves the Yankees as much as him. When we took the Yankees baby out of the box, Caden was very happy to meet him. He even has two teeth just like Caden.

We can't believe how big he has gotten already. As much as we don't want him to grow up too fast, we are enjoying every moment of it. We look forward to his smiles and laughs each day. We are so blessed to have such a wonderful baby boy in our lives. We hope you are enjoying watching him grow as much as we are.

Busy Month!

Here comes trouble :-)

Mama and Caden with Jenn and Landon at Landon's Baptism celebration.

Caden with Harlee in Portsmouth, NH

Caden and Papa on the fire truck in New Canaan

Caden has been drooling like crazy this month - a sign that his teeth would start coming in....and his first one did today!

The rest of July was a busy month for the Mitchell family. Caden and Mama went to Massachusetts and then New Hampshire to visit Mama's college friends, Jenn and Harlee. Jenn's new baby, Landon, celebrated his baptism on July 15th and then we went to Harlee's for a day. Caden shopped in downtown Portsmouth, NH for the first time. The following weekend we went to the New Canaan Sidewalk sales with the Kimball gang. Caden got to sit on his first fire truck with Papa. We have spent a few days on the beach this month, too. Just this past weekend, Caden got to spend a few days with Papa and Auntie Kara while Mama went away to Maine for her cousin RJ's wedding. To finish the month up, Caden's first tooth is just starting to pop out today!!!

Look at me! I love all these toys!

Yum, yum! What a great treat on a hot summer day!
I look like an old man taking a bath here. Only I am much cuter than any old man!
Brrrrrr, Mama. I think I am ready to get outta here.
I thought I would try to take down the shower curtain while Mama dried me off. I didn't succeed, though - thank goodness!!

SUMMERTIME FUN

We went to a BBQ at Grandma Nancy's yesterday. Caden played in Grandma's activity center for the first time and he loved it. We even brought ours out at home today so he has another toy to play with. Our great room looks smaller and smaller every time he gets a new toy! After playing, Caden enjoyed sucking on some watermelon with his Papa. We finished the hot day with a bath to cool off. We don't think Caden will ever give us a hard time taking a bath. In fact, we might have to fight with him to get him out of the bath. He just loves the water!

I am a mess, but this cereal is yummy!

This is my "I just ate and really need to burp" face.

As you can see, Caden is a big boy. He goes for his 4 month check-up on July 19th. When we were at the doctor about 2 weeks ago, he weighed almost 16 pounds. Our backs are already killing us from carrying him around! So Caden began to eat rice cereal recently. He was not happy about this at first, but now he seems to love it. Of course he gets more on his face than in his mouth these days. He is still trying to figure out how to swallow the cereal once it is in his mouth :-)

Chatham, Cape Cod

Caden and Mama at Lighthouse Beach. It was a little chilly the day we arrived so we had to buy some sweatshirts.
Caden loves the sound of the ocean...put him right to sleep.
Caden is ready to go for a swim in his new bathing suit that Auntie Becky bought him in NYC.
Just chilling at the beach. He is getting so big!!!
Caden swimming with Papa

Caden took his first long trip last weekend to the Cape. Jason and I had to go to a wedding in Chatham. Auntie Michelle came along to baby-sit. Caden enjoyed the beach and the pool at our hotel. However, he did not sleep very well on the trip. Packing for a baby is a lot of work, too! So mommy and daddy needed a vacation from the vacation by the time we got home. Luckily, Caden seems to be back on track with his schedule.

Mystic Aquarium

Today Caden went to Mystic Aquarium with mommy and Grammy
Pammy. We had so much fun and it was such a beautiful day outside.
Caden just loved watching all the fish, sharks, beluga whales, and especially the penguins. We will definitely be going back again when he gets a little older. Even though he is still so young, it is amazing how alert he was. He just loved the penguins. He moved his head all around to follow them as they swam by in the underwater view tank. He just
adds so much joy to our lives. We never knew that someone so little would make us smile every moment that we are with him. Hope you enjoy the pictures.
